- Capitalising Upon the Development Opportunities"
Successfully Held on 22 March 2006
 
On the occasion of ITU's Exhibitors Meeting in Hong Kong, the Host City Secretariat kicked-off the Business Facilitation Programme for event participants on 22 March 2006 at the AsiaWorld-Expo. The Interchange service was also launched the same day. The Platform and Interchange service are to be expanded on in the run up to and during the WORLD 2006 event week this December.
 
Over 100 participants joined the seminar and luncheon, and met with Chinese delegation members headed by the Ministry of Information Industry.
 
At the seminar, the Ministry of Information Industry gave an overview of the latest developments in the Mainland ICT market. At the Leadership Forum, Chinese industry leaders including China Satcom, China Tietong, Datang Telecom, FiberHome Technologies and ZTE presented on their corporate developments, outlooks and targetted partnership to strengthen growth, while local industry leaders and Invest Hong Kong highlighted the strategic position of Hong Kong, China as a gateway to opportunities into China and from China to the world. Multi-national company, Oracle, also shared their experience in market development in China.
 
Participants at The Platform also made use of the new Interchange service, and took the first step towards establishing contacts with Chinese companies before WORLD 2006.
